Help End Puppy Mills in Texas

Every Texan deserves to know that when they bring a puppy home, it was raised with care, not born into a puppy mill. Right now in Texas, too often that isn’t the case.

Puppy mills are large-scale breeding operations that prioritize profit over the health, comfort and welfare of the dogs and their litters. These conditions can cause preventable health and behavioral issues and place significant emotional and financial burdens on families.

The good news: Texas can help end puppy mills. Through commonsense, evidence-based policies that increase transparency around where puppies come from, set enforceable standards of care, strengthen consumer protections and encourage humane breeding practices, we can help end these operations for good.

Why is this important?

These policies help protect both people and pets by giving Texans the information they need to make informed decisions and by encouraging higher standards of care for dogs across our state.
