Baron recently visited Quest, Inc.'s Training Center in Apopka, where adults with developmental disabilities take part in enrichment, recreation, socialization, and life-skills programming tailored to their goals.

Website improvements, quietly underway.
We're rebuilding the site so supporters can show up faster, with less friction. New work in flight: | A dedicated foster portal — apply, browse dogs needing fosters, and manage your placement in one place.
| A volunteer portal — sign up for shifts, events, and community visits without the back-and-forth.
| Refreshed design & resources— cleaner pages, plus guides for new fosters, adopters, and advocates.
| A new AI chatbot — 24/7 answers for anything a new foster might be wondering, from vet visits to crate training.Visit the Keep Pets Alive website →

Advocating for a No-Kill Florida.
Keep Pets Alive is focused on securing a No-Kill proclamation from both Orange County and the State of Florida — a public commitment that puts lifesaving at the center of how our community cares for its dogs and cats.
OUR ASK
A No-Kill commitment for Central Florida.
We're asking Orange County Animal Services to commit to greater transparency and to building toward a true No-Kill facility — one where every healthy and treatable dog and cat has a real chance to find a home. Combined with a county and state proclamation, this sets the foundation for a No-Kill Florida.
A No-Kill Florida starts with the choice to commit, publicly and clearly. We invite every neighbor, foster, financial supporter, and volunteer to stand with us as we ask our leaders to make that commitment.
| MAY 20, 2026 · WEDNESDAY |
Every rescued dog has a story. This one is for them.
Founded in 2018 by Tails That Teach in honor of a single rescued pup named Cooper, National Rescue Dog Day is observed every May 20 to celebrate the dogs whose lives are saved through fostering, rescue, and adoption — and to shine a light on the ones still waiting. The ASPCA estimates roughly 3.3 million dogs enter U.S. shelters each year, and the difference between a forgotten kennel and a lifelong home often comes down to a single neighbor who decides to show up.
Mark the date. Foster a dog. Share an adoptable pup. Tag a friend who's been thinking about it. Every share, every introduction, every visit to keeppetsalive.org on May 20 helps another rescue dog get seen — and stay alive.
